Project coordinator

Across Europe, residential areas such as Large-Scale Housing Estates (LHEs) need to be transformed for facilitating sustainable mobility. The 15minESTATES project adapts and reframes the 15-minute City concept for the specific context of LHEs.

The research team at the RTU School of Architecture provides expertise on the quality of living environment (especially in LHEs), quality and regeneration of public spaces, adaptive and participatory approaches for urban regeneration (e.g., co-creation and participatory planning), climate change adaptation, and smart cities. They have a long-standing interest in and research background on LHEs, specifically the development pathways of these urban areas over the last three decades.

RTU team is leading WP5 and WP6.
