Tamás Egedy
senior researcher
Tamás is senior research fellow at the Geographical Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (GRI HAS). His research activities are in the field of urban regeneration, high-rise housing estates and creative economy in Hungary. In the past few years he investigated on the one hand the impacts of urban regeneration on the quality of life, on the other hand the impacts of global economic crisis on the competitiveness of large cities in Hungary. He has already supervised several national research projects financed by the Hungarian Scientific Research Fund (OTKA), participated in different international projects (e.g. NEHOM, GREENKEYS, ACRE) and contributed to bilateral research projects with German institutes.

Balázs Szabó
geographer, research fellow
Balázs is an urban geographer at HUN-REN RCAES Geographical Institute. A substantive focus in his work is on housing, especially on old and new housing estates and the transforming inner residential zone in Budapest and other post-socialist cities. Besides, he is engaged in researching the residential mobility of population groups and the changing profile of urban neighbourhoods. He regularly participates in international conferences and is the author/co-author of more than 80 scientific publications.
