15minESTATES partners Riga Technical University, Riga City and our fellow project “Cycling4Climate” are organizing Riga Cycling Conference 2025 “Cycling Culture in cities” bringing together city officials, researchers, planners, activists, and community organisations to exchange ideas and best practices on building and sustaining a strong cycling culture. Participants will explore how cycling shapes urban life, promotes sustainability, and connects communities, through keynotes, workshops, discussions, and field visits in Riga’s evolving cycling environment.
15minESTATES project is happy to be part of the event. Our representatives will reflect on our preliminar findings and participate in panel discussion, visioning workshop and design sprint. The second day of the event will be dedicated to our case study area in Ziepniekkalns hosting two community involving workshops in Ziepniekkalns secondary school – Urban interventions to promote 15min City living in Ziepniekkalns and How to encourage use of the Ziepniekkalns–Torņakalns–Centrs bike lane.
The aim of workshop is to keep local stakeholders informed and engaged by presenting initial results of the research, validating findings, and reflecting on them to identify potential directions for intervention. This also marks the beginning of the intervention phase, where local needs are assessed, possible actions are collected, and topics for the next project phases are defined.
